Lycoperdon Perlatum

Lycoperdon Perlatum is a common fungi found worldwide, it grows in forests and even grassy areas. It can be placed in a wide range of dishes, and tastes great. Similar species are the deadly amanita, which are not edible. It's actually antimicrobial, and can be used to heal wounds. In the 70's a group of teenagers decided to snort the spores of the mature puffball, this led them being hospitalised for four weeks, and fungicide having to be placed in their lungs (lol). The fungus can also remove Mercury from aqua solutions, and is being considered for bio testing.
