Uses:

You can use the flowers to make cordial drinks or deep fried as fritters. They go really-well with gooseberries. You can add the berries to apple pies or make a jelly or jam from them.

When and where to find it: 

The flowers are best harvested between May and July. The fruit usually grows between August and September. Don’t use the stalks of the plant, only pick the fruit and flowers. It usually grows in hedgerows and waste ground, edges of damp woodland, scrub and by roadsides.

Other Observations: 

It’s a broad shrub and can grow up to 10m. It has creamy white, scented flowers. The fruits grow in clusters and are black and juicy.
