Uses:
The leaves can be a little bitter on their own, best to mix with other salad leaves. You can lightly steam or fry the leaves in an omelette or soup. Its uses are very similar to what you would use spinach for.
When and where to find it:
Best between March and May, though you can find it all year round, including a second growth in late summer going into September. Found in woodland, grasslands, hedgerows and banks.
Other Observations:
The leaves are roughly 4-7cm in length and are distinctly arrow shaped with sharp pointed lobes at the bottom that point downwards. It grows tall with red flower spikes. Don’t confuse it with Lords-and-Ladies.
